Kwaak3 Arena v0.2 Released!

After many long hours I got lots working including the on screen keyboard and I did a bunch of fixes to make the game more playable. Stay tuned for more updates. Also I changed up the servers as they were screwing up... Hope to see the servers start getting active soon, especially now that chat is possible.

--------------

v0.2 UPDATES
1. Menu Key brings up the On Screen Keyboard (I recommend using Ultra Keyboard from the market so that you can resize it)
2. Dragging the mouse out of the D-Pad will keep moving instead of stop moving like normal games.
3. Moved the Weapons menu up so it doesn't cover the buttons
4. Some Multi-Touch fixes
5. Home key will do "/quit" before terminating the process so you don't 999 in the server
6. Camera Button defaults to shoot
7. m_filter (Smooth Mouse) set to 1 by default
8. Source Files uploaded to the Downloads page

NOTE- Backspace doesn't appear to work on the Swype keyboard, so be sure to switch to a different default keyboard before starting the game.

Stay tuned for X10 and HVGA devices support as well as Zeemote support!

Kwaak3 Arena v0.1 has been released! Check the Downloads page to download the version optimized for your device.

I still need Testers with MSN Messenger or some other Messenger for the Acer Liquid and the Sony Xperia X10, so if you want to test for that send me a PM on the forum. I need to have those tested before I put up official builds.

Other than that, I'm going to take a short break. I've only slept about 8 hours in the past 4 days working on this so hehe time to get some rest. I'll be conquering the On Screen Keyboard next!

I strongly urge you to join the forum and discuss new potential features and/or server options. Maybe we can set up some tournaments too or something. we'll see

I am currently working on a new project for touch-only devices like the Samsung Vibrant / Galaxy S / Nexus One: Quake 3 - Touch Arena.

My goal is to have an extremely playable copy of Quake 3 on our wonderful devices.

This is based off of kwaak3

I'm completely open to any ideas and suggestions so let me know what you'd like to see!

Updates
8/1/2010 - So far I can draw the touch screen arrow keys and they work for moving around. I however somehow managed to break the sound in the game so I have to re-write it. So far just learning through this, but with results! Also I need to figure out how to properly work Multi-Touch. If you know anything about multi-touch or have any informative links with simple samples/tutorials, please let me know! I think I have it figured out though.

8/2/2010 - Figured out, I didn't really break sound! My media volume was merely at 0. There are WAY too many volume controls on this phone.
Other than that, I managed to get the orientation to flip to either landscape when flipped! It doesn't even reload the game when flipped it instantly flips. I may add a Portrait mode, but that is doubtful. For now it's Landscape flipped either way. Also, I edited the audio to make the sound 'come' a little faster, so the sound doesn't lag as far behind by a handful of milliseconds.

8/3/2010 - I've managed to completely figure out how multi-touch works so expect an APK (without on screen keyboard) tomorrow! There is also a nice weaponswitch layout at the bottom, click the weapon to switch to it. I've also revamped the look a bit, so stay tuned for tomorrow.

If you like what I'm doing here and want to buy me a lunch, or want to donate towards the server I'll be setting up for phones only you can hit up my donate button below. ;]
